[So, the Republic of Albion. For whatever reason and whatever traumas that lead them here, word of god has decreed that Our Heroes are at the military academy there. That said, as with any other school full of teenagers, there's definitely a hierarchy among the students...and as it turns out, the pretty upperclassman who is responsible for the sudden, sharp uptick in the visitor curfew at the girls' dormitory being obeyed is dominating the practice rooms. We're not sure why she's spent the better part of the afternoon defeating students at swordplay, but she's run through both the fencing and kendo teams, and is standing there in the center of the room looking magnificently bored.]

...Is that really all? Is there no one who can provide me even a decent challenge?

[Clearly, an intervention, or failing that, a new challenger is required.]

[SHRUG.] Not all of us can be so powerful in stature and popularity. This suits me fine.

I don't believe that. You wouldn't have struck out against the clubs if you were that interested in maintaining a low profile. I imagine you've had similar escapades here on campus.

[Crossing his arms, then.]

But since you can't remember any of them, it's as if they never happened, hm?

[She grins right back at him.] I have my reasons.

[He tilts his head some, still so serious.]

Or, you know, you could try asking me politely. [This only seems to amuse her more.]

If you're really that curious...I'm certain that will be easier.

You're the reason the dorms are so locked down, aren't you?

[He can be blunt, too, if they're playing that way.]

I got tired of being woken up at three in the morning by other people's ill-thought-out trysts, yes. To say nothing of the idiots outside my window attempting to gain the same attention.

[Giving him a Look.] What of it? Were you one of the ones I had thrown out?

No, but I have a habit for walking at night, when it's dark, that you have similarly ruined.

That was not my intention, and I do apologize for the trouble, but I have no intention of allowing activities to resume as they were.

[She raises her chin a bit in--not quite defiance, but she's clearly a little irritated.]

As long as these honorless dogs who continue trying to creep into the windows of young girls persist, so will I.

[...Bit dramatic for teenage nookie, isn't that?]

[That is entirely too dramatic and it turns out that unless he knows you and considers you his friend he has an exceptionally low drama quotient.]

...[Putting her face in her hands.] Why the hell would I want one from this school? No offense, but I have other shit to do.

[SOunds like a yes.]

...So yes, in other words.

[He sighs and nods. It's not like he's unfamiliar with the concept of relationships being a terrible prospect at this school.]

It suddenly makes sense.

...I feel somewhat judged and I'm not sure I like the conclusions being come to, Leukkanen.

Oh, I was simply reaching the conclusions from the evidence that was offered to me. I apologize if that's not what you wanted.

I'm not entirely sure why my love-life is really relevant right now.

I was attempting to make connections between the points you offered me. Was I wrong in doing this?

I've heard that before, though honestly it's never been enough of a problem for me. I know what I need to handle and I handle it.

In this case, while you connected the dots in a logical fashion, it's also implying I'm only upset about the disturbances to my sleep schedule because I'm unable to find a willing partner for sex. That's just a touch insulting, no?

Oh, I assumed there'd be a lot of issues with being interrupted. But I suppose I insinuated that the drive behind your doing all this was that.

[So then he crosses an arm over his chest, to his shoulder, and bows.]

I think you'll find that the man almost never lives up to the ideal, in most cases.


[Still, he straightens up, even reaches to fix his hair that she mussed.]

That's not exactly what I mean...but I suppose I find it curious. You, who are thought of as aloof and cool but I suspect you're simply too busy to interact much...and me, who no one seems to ever connect to my reputation.

Kind of serendipitous, isn't it?

I'm not sure I understand what you're insinuating. Or perhaps I am being willfully ignorant. How is this meeting serendipitous for either of us?

One, because I very rarely get any opportunities to use serendipitous in a sentence. Two, I used the term because I'm curious and I would like to be friends?
